The Secret Sibling World of Love, Hate & Fantasy explores the primordial and fantastical world shared by siblings, in this case, between my two young daughters.
I am interested in the magical world that children live in, with all of its wonder, fear, love and brutality. I am overwhelmed by the extreme levels of love and enmity, trust and betrayal, acceptance and resentment, intimacy and carelessness, and joy and rage that emerge and submerge within moments of each other.
Also I am aware of the sheer magnitude of the natural world as viewed from a child's perspective.
As an adult and parent, I am at a distance, able to observe but not enter this magical world. Influenced by magical surrealism, I use photography as a way to draw closer to and describe this secret to which my children have led me.
