These works are inspired by the "Arte Plumario" of colonial times where Aztec feather art was blended with Catholic painting traditions from Spain. For this series I scanned a hummingbird which I found in my yard, and digitally extracted feathers to place over photographs of my girls. In this way I recreated my own version of Arte Plumario.
